INTERNAL DRAINAGE SYSTEMS do not aid in prevention of the excess water entering the home; exactly the opposite occurs. These systems invite the water to flow under the footing. Foundation or wall failure will likely occur in the direct vicinity of the drains, as water will always take the path of least resistance. Such a path is created when the internal drainage system is installed.

Again, there are times this type of system may be the only solution, but those instances are extremely rare.
